Frequently Asked Questions
To keep our costs down and to offer the best value and flexibility to our clients, we do not operate from commercial premises. Appointments can be arranged by contacting us. We even offer local client visits to discuss their needs. Give us a call now!
Delivering guitars with couriers carries an inherent risk. Insurance is nearly impossible to obtain. Due to this we always recommend collecting the guitar in person. This also gives you the opportunity to try out the guitar with no obligation. Guitars, especially hand built instruments such as our Custom Shop models, play differently from instrument to instrument and "getting your hands on it" is ALWAYS worth the effort. After all, your guitar becomes your best friend! I would never buy a car without a test drive. We can offer a service to hand deliver guitars locally at an additional cost. Call us to find out more.
We accept all major credit and debit card payments except AMEX.
The simple answer is YES! Assuming the neck is straight and the fretwork is ok, upgrading components can make a HUGE difference. Budget guitars tend to use cheap hardware and pickups, after all, you get what you pay for. Quality machine heads (tuners) can solve problems with going out of tune. Shielding control cavities can solve problems with interference and noise. Quality pickups in my opinion make the biggest difference to the sound and is always money well spent. Bring your guitar to us and we will give you an honest assessment of what we can do to improve the instrument.
Give us a call! Advice costs nothing. We love chatting about guitars.......probably too much! If we cannot sort it out over the phone, pop down to see us and we can assess your instrument and give you a quote to get it singing!
We are a business so we have to make money to survive. Any offer we make to buy a used guitar will be based on a percentage of what we believe to be the market price based on the condition of the guitar. You would probably be able to obtain a better price privately but this comes with risk too and time taken up with "tyre kickers" and time wasters. We offer a quick reliable service with payment made into your bank account when we have received and assessed your guitar. Why not trade in your instrument for a hand built Custom Shop guitar built to your specifications!
